Starting at the Brenner Pass on the border with Austria on September 5th we aim to reach the southern tip of Sicily near Portopalo di Capo Passero by September 23rd. Gybe Gilbert, Jeroen Markies, Peter Cross and Mark Sewell make up the team. So that's 2,000km (1,250 miles) and 14,000m (45,000 ft) to climb in 17 days, cycling 112km (70 miles/day). Should be fun!

Route Map
People have been asking which route we took. Here is a map which shows our overnight stops.
Since we are planning to do almost the same trip – Brenner to Marina di Ragusa/Sicily – this autumn I wonder if you have your road map in more detail? Best regards, Michael Åhman, Stockholm, Sweden.
I'm not sure if you still check these comments but I am hoping you do!! I am planning the same trip for later this year and I noticed you were kind enough to share your GPX files with another commenter. I have a route in mind but I would love the chance to compare it with yours (as you have actually made it all the way there!). If you wouldn't mind sending it to me, that would be amazing :) thanks and kind regards, Sharon
Hey guys, bit of a long shot but if anyone is reading this would it be possible to also share the GPX file. I am keen to cycle this route in memory of our precious baby daughter Mabel who was born prematurely and did not make it
nice one Mark-gosh it looks a long way-!
